Day 2:High Atlas Mountains - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades

The route climbs the Tizi n'Tichka pass ($2,260\text{m}$), where you will search for the Tristram’s Warbler, a specialist species with very specific habitat requirements. As the road snakes through the hills, keep a sharp eye on the thermals for raptors like the Long-legged Buzzard and Bonelli’s Eagle.Descending toward the desert, a stop in Amerzgane offers the chance to locate the rare Maghreb Wheatear and the well-camouflaged Desert Lark. Before arriving at your hotel, you will explore the Mansour Eddahbi Reservoir, an ideal location for a 4 day bird photography tour Morocco, with excellent opportunities to capture Marbled Ducks, Ruddy Shelducks, herons, and seasonal waders. this vital wetland is a magnet for Marbled Duck, Ruddy Shelduck, Black-winged Stilts, and Maghreb Lark, alongside a diverse selection of herons, cormorants, and seasonal waders. The day concludes with dinner and accommodation in the heart of the Dades region. Boumalne Dades

Day 3: Boumalne Dades - Tagdilt Track - Dades Gorge

After a good night’s sleep, your 4 day private birding tour Morocco continues with an early morning visit to the legendary Tagdilt Track, one of Morocco's finest locations for desert bird species. Despite the nearby rubbish tip, this remains a premier site for rare desert specialists. Careful searching across the stony plains can reveal the Cream-colored Courser, Black-bellied Sandgrouse, Trumpeter Finch, and a wide variety of larks including Thick-billed, Bar-tailed, Desert, and Temminck’s Lark. We will also scan for Red-rumped and Desert Wheatears on the ground while keeping an eye overhead for Lanner Falcon, Pharaoh Eagle-Owl, Long-legged Buzzard, and the Maghreb Mourning Wheatear.

In the afternoon, we head to the spectacular Dades Gorge. Among the towering pink limestone walls, we will look for Crag Martin, Blue Rock Thrush, and Rock Bunting, while Bonelli’s Eagle often patrols the heights. This dramatic canyon also provides an excellent opportunity to find the northwest African endemic Tristram’s Warbler in the scrubby vegetation. After a full day of desert and gorge birding, we return to our accommodation in Boumalne Dades. Tagdilt Track
